GOOSE ISLAND RECYCLING CENTER is at 1150 N. North Branch Street, 2 blocks east of the Kennedy at Division St.  It is open Tuesdays (7:00 am - noon), Thursdays (2:00 pm - 7:00 pm), and the first Saturday of each month (8:00 am - 3:00 pm).  It is closed on holidays.  Bring your materials through the gates and past the first one-story building, located on the west side of the street at 1150 N. North Branch.  Signs are posted indicating the specific drop-off spots for specific materials (electronics, other household hazards, etc.).  Materials accepted include most electronics, compact fluorescent bulbs, and oil-based paints & stains.   Latex paints and working TVs are not accepted.

The Village of Oak Park hosts electronic recycling events on the last Saturday of each month from May through October, 2011.  Acceptable items include:  Computers & peripherals, laptops, monitors, TVs, cell phones, rechargeable batteries, printers, fax machines, MP3 players, PDAs, video game consoles, VCRs, dgital video disk players, zip ddrives, scanners, & microwaves. 

The dates are:  May 28, June 25, July 30, August 27, Sept. 24, and Oct. 29.  Drop off items from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at 201 South Boulevard, Oak Park.
