The Nominating Committee has begun to reach out to friends and attenders to discern and encourage their leadings to serve Oak Park Friends Meeting. We will continue to work to fill as many open positions as those who are willing to serve agree to fill.

Report for the Naming Committee for Oak Park Friends Meeting, 12/12/2010
The Naming Committee consists of Helen Dickinson and Judith Erickson.
The Committee met several times and suggests the following three people for service on the Nominating Committee: Adrian Fisher, Valerie Lester, and John Muhlenberg. If approved, they have all agreed to serve. We suggest that their term of service run on a calendar year basis. By beginning in January, they will have just over 4 months to find those who will begin their work on June 1 (appointments to be confirmed by the May business meeting). By serving on the Nominating Committee until December, they may be called upon if there are vacancies that need to be filled before then.
We (the Naming Committee) are putting together some information on offices, committee descriptions, terms of service, and an updated directory which we will provide to each member of the Nominating Committee. We hope this information will help them review the overall needs of the Meeting, and help them discern their work, as led by the Spirit, and a timeline for it.
Finally, we ask the business meeting to either clarify specific terms of service for various offices, or ask the incoming members of the Nominating Committee to carefully consider and recommend terms of service as part of their work. Because this is the first time OPFM has had a Naming Committee, we hope that this committee will be further defined, including its term of service.
