Illinois Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty
In accordance with Quakers' historic opposition to capital punishment, OPFM supported the movement to abolish capital punishment in Illinois through donations to the Illinois Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (ICADP). ICADP was founded in 1976 to work towards abolishing capital punishment in Illinois. At present, it maintains a website and a Facebook page; sponsors activities aimed at promoting abolition legislation; and works to connect Illinois abolitionists with one another and with abolitionists in other states. The ICADP website can be found here.
